Annual Corps Training Details

Cadet Information Sheet
Each cadet is requested to complete/update their Cadet Information Sheet at the start of the year.  This helps keep your file up to date for end of year consideration of performance, awards, medals and local recognition. This is usually updated with the help of the Administration Officer.

Weekly Routine Orders

Weekly Routine Orders (WROs) are published three weeks out (for the month) and updated as far in advance as possible. Most current WROs information is posted on the Welcome Page of the Website and the bulletin board outside the office.

WROs include, but are not limited to: the scheduled training specifics each week, any weekend activities and related pre-requisites, duty schedules and other pertinent information that the ship company must act upon. The content is extracted from the yearly schedule, adds details and reflects any changes or additions that need to be communication to Staff, cadets, parents, and Branch personnel since first published.

Our training program requires several specific weekends to be planned and executed during the regular training year. These weekends, such as on-water activities, seamanship training, fundraising commitments, competition weekends, citizenship/community service and some good old fun, are scheduled so you can plan vacations, work and sports schedules and homework time. Closer to the date more specific operational details will be published in WROs, our Newsletter and notes to parents. Weekend activities and other events that take us away from HMCS Cataraqui require a signed Permission form. Permission forms will be handed out at cadet nights. We are working to make one available online. Please fill it in hand in to the AdminO by the no later than date noted on the activity details.

Training Schedule

The yearly training schedule is a living document, plan for it to change and have additional detail as plans flesh out. An initial version of the “Year Ahead” will be available once the training year starts. This calendar will be up to date and WROs will be posted for the current month.  If you have any concerns about training, please contact us, directing your questions to the attention of the Training Officer.

Our current training plan is ready to run.  We will adjust as we need to based on the start dates (virtual and face to face), the public health measures, and the rules from HMCS Cataraqui for us to continue to parade there.

Permission Slips

Many events, especially those that take cadets away from HMCS Cataraqui for training, community service, competitions or fund raising support require parental consent. We collect this consent using a typical permission slip that parents complete, adding the details and timings of the approved event.  The permission slip must be handed in to the Officer or emailed by the deadlines noted in the WROs.
